PURPOSE

This organization is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501 C (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.  As such, this association shall:

    Þ Provide an opportunity for support and a unified voice for the Foster Grandparent 

          Programs;

   Þ Provide a means for communication between the Foster Grandparent Programs, related 

         organizations and agencies, and local, state, regional and federal funding sources;

   Þ Explore areas of general interest affecting older adults;

   Þ Provide a vehicle to encourage coordinated, creative and unduplicated services to solve 

          problems;

   Þ Act as a resource and make available technical assistance to Foster Grandparent

         Directors, sponsors, the Corporation for National and Community Service

         (or the  funding agency for Foster Grandparent Programs designated by the United States

         Government), and other community groups as needed and deemed appropriate.
